It was in 1965 that Chevy debuted what would later in 1986 become the 3rd generation Corvette at the New York International Auto Show. This concept was called the Mako Shark II. Mattel, the creators of the Hot Wheels cars, was actually able to come out with their Redline Custom Corvette before that actual car was available for sale due to their lead designer getting a sneak peek at the car! While this may have pleased General Motors, the Hot Wheels fans sure were excited to see the debut of the Redline Custom Corvette!
